DISTANCE/DISPLACEMENT TIME GRAPH

A graph drawn with time along x-axis and distance along y-axis is called as distance/displacement-time graph. As shown below


A sample of distance-time graph drawn according to the time and distance covered in each time intervals is provided below. 


Slop of Displacement time graph


Slop of displacement time graph of a body in motion gives velocity of that body.



To find slop of graph draw a triangle ΔABC in inclined line of graph. Then 

Slop = AB/BC                 

Here AB is displacement and BC is the time

Slop = displacement/time = velocity 

So the slop of displacement time graph gives velocity. Similarly slop of distance time graph gives speed.
